why NETFLIX new series and movies use old songs

I've recently noticed that Netflix's new series and movies are using a lot of "good" old songs. And I asked myself "before a couple of months Netflix was swimming in a pool of pop music and now they trying to play actually good music, why is that?"

Well, one of my thoughts says that it is kinda brilliant to play this kind of music in a series or a movie. Cause in that way older people, or people with actual taste can watch Netflix series.

At first, Netflix was pretty famous for the teenagers. After that, families started to watch movies on it. Which means that they had to play something else except "romantic comedies", "sex", and "teenage insecurities" basically all the themes a teenager has to deal with every day.

In now days the phrase "do you wanna have sex?" is more like "do you wanna Netflix and chill?". So Netflix gave base to the hormones of the uncontrollable young people and pleased 'em with this kind of movies on their front page.

"Basic" teenagers don't mind the music that's gonna play in their movie.

If it isn't noise then its cool

They don't listen to the music of the movie, don't try to understand the way the film was taken, they only stick with the scenario and if the actors are hot or not. That's why Netflix is getting a lot of views with a comfortable budget

But Netflix is a company right? And all businesses think of the money and how they can win more.

So they suggest to attract olders by uploading old movies and young people with good taste by putting good music and add some incommon camera techniques in their movies.

It was that easy and they succeed their goal. Netflix's accounts were doubled up.

For example, "the kissing booth" was pretty famous when it came up. All the teenage community was talking about it. Did it had good music taste? Nah... It was just a casual, cliché girl-and-boy-at-school movie. But "the kissing booth 2" really had some interesting choices. At the end of the movie they played "Good Vibrations" by The Beach Boys and in the middle Marco sang "what I like about you" by The Romantics...

Also, in Sex Education which is a series especially for teenagers, used as a soundtrack songs from a lots of famous old artists such as "Al Green" (soul, funk), "The Velvet Underground" (garage rock of the 60s), "Bikini Kill" (punk), and more

So what is it with music and new Netflix movies?
